Bratislava is becoming a shopping paradise. Stores have long opening hours and shopping malls are also open over weekends on Saturdays and Sundays as well as over holidays. As in other towns, you can get products of renowned world brands as well as typically Slovak products. The Old Town is home to some interesting retailers, too, such as the jewellery and watch shops, bookstores, wine stores, glass and porcelain, ceramics, antiques and other souvenirs.

Wine Shops
For Slovak wines, try the wineshop Trunk (Zupne namestie, near Michalska), St. Michael's (at Michalska street) or Vinoteka Sv. Urbana (on Klobucnicka street, near the City Hall). Around the corner on Laurinska, you will find the wine shop Kodrianka (specialising in Moldavian and French wines).
Shopping malls
Bratislava’s top shopping destinations are its shiny new malls – Polus City Centre, Aupark and Avion Shopping Centre. Polus is about 15 minutes from downtown by tram (you can take tram No. 1,2 or 4). Aupark is just 5 minutes by bus (No. 50) or better just 15 minutes walking from downtown - on the south bank of the Danube river. At both ones you will find the most of the same brand-name retailers as in Western Europe as well as a multiplex cinema and a wide variety of eating options. Avion is located just next to the Airport being a part of shopping area together with Ikea, Kika, Hornbach and some other stores. This one is the most recently opened and covers very popular brand especially amongst young people.
Central Market Mileticova (Centralne trhovisko)
For a different shopping experience we recommend to visit the largest open air market on Mileticova Street with its vegetable & fruit stands, flowers, cheap clothing kiosks and many other industrial products on very discounted prices. Especially lively on Saturdays. Easily accessible by public transport (trolleybus 201 or 207).
